Students will be instructed in construction site etiquette, fire tool use, and any other safety practices while working around machines.

Hands-on Practical Work Oriented Training
It is recommended that our loaded Class 1 Driver Training be included as part of the Heavy Equipment Operator Training Course. A Class 1 learner’s license is required if the student is planning to up-grade to a Class 1 driver’s license. Did You Know?: Heavy equipment operators are more employable if they hold valid Class 1 driver’s licenses.

Our courses generally start on a Monday.

• We start a 7 am Monday to Friday and finish at 3:30 p.m.
• Courses can vary from 1 to 12 weeks in length depending on course content and desired outcome.
• We offer continuous intake to accommodate everyone.

The Fox Heavy Equipment Operator Training Course provides both practical instruction. Student’s start with the basic operations and move on too more advanced training as they gain more experience.

Each student:

• progresses at his/her own rate
• practices hands-on, Work Oriented Training
• has the sole use of a machine all day
• learns how to inspect the layout of the work site in view of construction requirements, running lines, grades and offsets
• learns to lubricate and grease the various training machines; how to apply  lubrication charts; and, manufacturer's equipment specifications throughout the training program.

Note:

Upon completion of our training it is an easy transition to using other attachments on the excavators such as butt and top, feller-buncher, rock drills, compactor, machines.

Once the Fox Heavy Equipment Operator Training Course is completed the student receives a Certificate stating the date of completion, and all the machines the student operated.  We also write a letter of recommendation for the student to present to potential employers.

• Human Resource Development Canada (HRDC)
• Employment Insurance (EI)

• Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, ICBC; and,
• Native Bands throughout the province.

• Student or Sponsor will assume the cost of:
  • Accommodations and meals
  • Work boots (CSA hard toe)
  • Highly visible vests
  • Coveralls, gloves and hard hat, ear muffs
  • Lunch kit and thermos

  • $15.00 for learner’s license test
  • $15.00 for written air test
  • $60.00 for road test
  • $17.00 for licenses endorsement
  • $28.00 Medical Processing Fee
